Make use of allocated plan budgets allotted to various departments: Chief Secretary

Chandigarh December 22: Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr D.S Dhesi directed the Administrative Secretaries to make complete use of approved plan budgets allotted to them and ensure that the funds do not remain unutilized.
          Mr Dhesi was presiding over a meeting of all Administrative Secretaries here today.
          Reviewing the steps taken by different department to install Point of Sale (POS) Machines, he directed to make available sufficient POS machines in a time bound manner to promote digital payment. It was apprised in the meeting that request has been received from eleven different departments for 1627 POS machines till yesterday including 137 machines by Transport  Department, 133 by Excise and Taxation Department, 111 by Higher Education Department and 110 by Public Health Engineering Department. Out of these, accounts have been opened and also code generated for 252 machines and these would be installed within next week.
          It was informed that over 21,000 people have so far registered on web portal cashlessharyana.nic.in. A scheme has already been launched under which prizes, selected randomly by the computer, would be given to the citizens who would be registering and transacting proactively towards cashless transactions. It was informed that Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal would honour the awardees of the scheme on December 25, 2016.  As many as 65 prizes would be given away on that day for which draw would be held on December 24.
          The Chief Secretary directed the Administrative Secretaries to accord highest priority to the CM announcements. He said that Chief Minister has so far covered 88 out of total 90 assembly constituencies in the State and made as many as 3110 announcements concerning various development works only after assessing their feasibility with the concerned departments.
          While directing the Administrative Secretaries to ensure timely execution of works under the CM announcement, he directed them to hold meeting with the Heads of the Department concerned every month to review the status of CM announcement and ensure that the status report is uploaded between first and  fifth of every month.  He said that a committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue has been constituted with Additional Chief Secretary, Development and Panchayats, Principal Secretary, Urban Local Bodies and Principal Secretary, Monitory and Coordination as its members to expedite the process of identification and making land available for implementation of CM’s announcement.      
          He directed the concerned Administrative Secretaries to prepare list of those CM announcements of upto December 2015 on which work has not been started yet along with the reasons and submit the same within next three days.
          Among those present in the meeting included OSD to Chief Minister Mr Mukul Kumar and Administrative Secretaries of various departments.
