Chandigarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has chosen to celebrate Diwali tonight with Army troops guarding the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, it was officially stated today. It is a great gesture of Modi as every no and then army men are killed at the LoC protecting our permanent hot borders

The Prime Minister’s visit to LoC coincided with Infantry Day celebrations, observed to mark the landing of first Indian troops in Jammu and Kashmir in 1947 to push back Pakistan-supported intruders. Later, supported by the Pakistan army.

Modi directly flew to the Army Brigade Headquarters in the border district to interact with the troops deployed along the LoC, the officials said.

This is for the third time that the Prime Minister visited Jammu and Kashmir to celebrate Diwali with the troops in the border state since 2014, and first after the abrogation of Article 370 provisions.

Modi’s choice of destination to celebrate Diwali, a national festival of lightening and wealth (Laxmi)  with Army personnel not only gives them morale boost but develops PM’s warm relationship with the forces, as he appears to be taking extra care of them.
