Indian government is with Sikhs and Hindus in Afghanistan: Sampla

Chandigarh, July 10, 2018 : Indian government as well as every Indian is with the Sikhs and Hindus living in Afghanistan. This was stated by Union Minister and former Punjab BJP president Vijay Sampla who today met Jalalabad blast victim Iqbal Singh at the AIIMS and inquired after his health. Sampla assured Iqbal Singh all possible help.

The Indian government is bearing the expense of Iqbal Singh’s treatment. Iqbal Singh expressed his happiness over the treatment provided to him and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the same.

It is to be noted that 19 people, majority of them Sikhs and Hindus, were killed and 20 others seriously injured in a terrorist attack in Afghanistan’s Jalalabad on July 1.

 Sampla also talked over phone to Narendra Singh, son of Avtar Singh, the Sikh politician who too was killed in the attack and assured him that the Indian government was committed towards the well-being of Sikhs and Hindus living in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Narendra Singh appealed Sampla to allow the Sikhs and Hindus in Afghanistan to stay for a longer period of time in India, upon which Sampla assured him of taking up the matter to the Indian government.
