Punjabi NRI couple looted at dhaba on way to Delhi airport

Barnala, May 25, 2018: Some unidentified persons allegedly looted an NRI couple belonging to Bhadaur town in Barnala district of Punjab.

According to the victims, Amandeep Sharma and his wife had stopped at Mannat Dhaba near Rohtak for some refreshments on way to Delhi airport to board flight to USA.

While the couple was having tea inside the Dhaba, some cab drivers informed that some motorcycle-borne persons broke the windowpane of their car and fled away with the bag lying on the seat.

Confirming the incident, Inspector Rajvir Singh of the police station, Sampla said that the CCTV footage from the cameras installed at the Dhaba was being examined. The culprits would be traced soon, he said.

The aggrieved couple claimed that the bag contained 5800 US Dollars cash, 22 grams gold jewelry, couple’s passports, tickets, credit card and other important documents.

Inspector Rajvir Singh said that all wayside Dhabas have deployed security guards.
