3 held with demonetized notes worth over Rs 13 lakh: Police

Srinagar, December 12: Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday arrested three persons with nearly fourteen lakh rupees demonetized notes in Srinagar, said spokesman.

Three persons namely Bashir Ahmad Khan son of  Mohd Sultan resident of Batamaloo, Showket Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Pampore & Bashir Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Qadir resident of Panthachowk Srinagar

Giving details, spokesman said “Police  Station Nigeen during a surprise naka checking at Ashai-bagh in Srinagar apprehended three persons namely Bashir Ahmad Khan son of  Mohd Sultan resident of Batamaloo, Showket Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Pampore & Bashir Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Qadir resident of Panthachowk Srinagar.”

“Demonetized currency of Rs. 1363500 (Thirteen Lakh, Sixty three thousands & Five hundred) was recovered from their possession,” he added.
