Dalit woman gagged and gang raped in in Gunga village near Bhopal

Gunga village (Madhya Pradesh), Oct. 6:  A 23-year-old dalit woman, mother of two, was dragged out of her farmhouse while she was alone with her children and gang-raped by five people in Gunga village on the outskirts of the state capital Bhopal on Friday night. Rape survivor, who works as a labrourer, was sleeping in the farmhouse, when accused gagged and dragged her to the fields.

A case was registered at Gunga police station on Saturday. Police said three of the five accused have been taken into custody while two others are on the run.

Accused fled when they realized that her husband was returning on the tractor. Before leaving, they threatened the woman of dire consequences if she revealed about the incident to anyone, but she told her husband about it.



According to police, the survivor resides with her husband at a farm in Dhamarra where her husband operates a tractor in the agriculture field while her wife works as a farm labourer.

At the time of the incident, she was asleep with her two daughters while her husband had gone to a nearby village at the time of incident. Accused were identified as Jagdish, Mushtaq, Bablu, Sonu and Manoj all aged between 19 to 25 years and residents of Dhamarra village.

Accused fled when they realized that her husband was returning on the tractor. Before leaving, they threatened the woman of dire consequences if she revealed about the incident to anyone, but she told her husband about it.

Next day the couple went to police station and got a case registered against the accused. Police said those arrested include Jagdish, Sonu and Manoj while a hunt has been launched to nab the remaining two.
