Ahemadgarh: The last day of three-day Chhapar Mela near Ahemadgarh turned into a political battleground on Wednesday. Accusations flew thick and fast as the Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal  and aam admi Party put up a massive show of strength at the mela held in the memory of Gugga Pir.

Though CM Capt Amarinder Singh had claimed that his government would not indulge in vendetta politics, Sidhu and Bittu demanded action against Badals for their "misdeeds".

At the Congress rally, attended by PPCC president Sunil Jakhar, cabinet ministers, Manpreet Badal, Navjot  Singh Sidhu and Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, and Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, the leaders listed the achievements of the Captain government and lashed out against the Badal family , accusing them and Bikram Ma jithia of looting and destroying Punjab.

Though CM Capt Amarinder Singh had claimed that his government would not indulge in vendetta politics, Sidhu and Bittu demanded action against Badals for their "misdeeds".

Levelling serious charges of misuse of government funds on former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, Manpreet said, "While going through expenditure statements of the previous government on Tuesday , I found a file related to the expenditure incurred by Badal sahib on his treatment in America. The file is very shocking. I will soon make it public."

Local bodies minister Navjot Singh Sidhu turned out to be the show-stopper once again. He said if he was given charge of the police department for one month, he would teach lesson to Lambu (Majithia), Manpreet Ayali and Badals. Sidhu said, "Captain Sahib, Lambu, Ayali nu jalebi waang katha karo. Dhanwaad Punjabiyon, tussi kothe te tota bain ni ditta, jija-sala rehn ni ditta (Thanks to all the Punjabis, you did not let parrot sit on the terrace and did not let jija-sala (Sukhbir-Majithia) remain in power). After Sidhu ended his speech, a large number of people started moving out of the venue.
