AHMEDABAD, AUGUST 27: Mortal remains of CRPF Jawan Dinesh Borse, in his 30s, who died in a gunbattle with militants in Pulwama of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, were consigned to flames in Naroda area of the city on Sunday afternoon amid a huge crowd shouting slogans against terrorism.

When his body reached his home, Deepak Borse and Asha Borse, parents of the CRPF jawan, were inconsolable after losing their only son in the gunbattle. Dinesh's wife Jyoti fainted seeing the mortal remains of her husband while their two kids including a three-year-old daughter- Devanshi and a five month-old son Jay were not understanding anything.

Earlier at around 1 pm, Borse's body was brought from Pulwama to Ahmedabad in a BSF chopper, with state home minister Pradipsinh Jadeja, district collector Avantika Singh and CRPF officials being present during the guard of honour.

As the body was taken out from the airport, a large number of people were seen lining at both sides of the road till Borse's house in Amardeep Society in Naroda area of the city. In the entire route of around 5 kms, high throttle slogans of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' (Hail the mother India) and 'Dinesh Borse Amar Rahe' (Long live Dinesh Borse) could be heard amid the shrill voice of crying.

The daughter was holding a tricolor, but when asked what it was, she remained silent.

The martyr's body was then kept in front of his house where in a large number, people, police and paramilitary officials paid their homage. Then, the last journey of the CRPF jawan began from his house to a crematorium. Again, people made a beeline to see the glimpse of the mortal remains of Dinesh Borse showering flower on his body. Some of the people joined the last journey of the jawan with DJ sounds playing patriotic songs in high noise.

The last journey reached crematorium at around 4pm where the funeral pyre was lit by one of Dinesh's nephews - Kartik Borse. Later his father Deepak Borse said that he had lost his son fighting against terrorism, but he wanted that violence should be stopped in valley. "Dinesh had called me up a few days back and said that he would come in Navratri. Yesterday, his friend called me up and said that Dinesh was serving with them. I, then, understood that I lost my son," he said.

Dinesh's relatives also demanded to name a road or a school after Dinesh Borse. It needs mention that Borse was among the eight--four CRPF men and four Jammy and Kashmir security personnel-- who were martyred in a terror strike at Pulwama police lines on Saturday.
