Chandigarh has Super Sunday with three toppers CBSE Class 12th Board result

Chandigarh: For the tiny Union Territory of Chandigarh, Sunday was special as three students topped the country in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE’s) Class 12 board examination, results of which were declared on Sunday. Bhoomi Sawant, a science student, scored 99.4% marks to emerge as the all-India second topper and Mannat Luthra and Aditya Jain jointly bagged the third rank. Luthra and Jain both scored 99.2% in commerce.

Noida’s Raksha Gopal led the toppers’ list in the Class 12 exam by scoring 99.6% in humanities stream. Gopal, a student of Amity International School, scored 100 in 3 subjects – English Core, political science and economics. She scored 99 in psychology and history.

Last year, Sukriti Gupta of New Delhi’s Montfort School in Ashok Vihar scored 99.4% to top the Class 12 exams. She was a science student. Sawant, a student of DAV School in Sector 8, scored 100 in physics, chemistry, mathematics and computer science and 97 in English. Jaskiran Harika, the principal of Sawant’s school, said Sawant has an ear for music and is good at playing the harmonium.

Sawant, who wants to become a computer science engineer, called up her physics teacher, Rajwant Singh, first to share her result.
