Haryana to offer health insurance scheme for poor soon - Khattar

Chandigarh: The Haryana government would soon implement a health insurance scheme to provide free healthcare services to the poor in the state. The cost of premium will be borne by the state government. Disclosing this after inaugurating the Adesh Medical College and Hospital at Mohri village of Kurukshetra district on Saturday, chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said efforts were being made to ensure that every person had access to healthcare services.

Haryana govt has disbursed Rs 2,400 cr compensation to farmers: CM

Kaithal: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said that his government has disbursed Rs 2,400 crore as compensation to farmers in the last two years. He said the BJP government in the state was pursuing farmer-centric policies and has set a target to double the income of tillers by 2022.

Haryana govt to procure 75% of sunflower from farmers

Kurukshetra : Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced on Saturday that the state government would procure 75 per cent of sunflower produce. Announcing the policy change at a function in Shahabad, Khattar accused the Congress of spreading false propaganda on issues affecting farmers.

Hope INLD supports NDA presidential nominee Kovind: Khattar

New Delhi : Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar expressed hope that the main Opposition in the state Assembly INLD will support NDA nominee Ram Nath Kovind for the post of President. Khattar told media persons that the INLD had been once been a part of NDA.

A Hindu Cannot Be a Terrorist, Says Haryana Minister Anil Vij

BJP leader and Haryana Health and Sports Minister Anil Vij alleged that the concept of Hindu terrorism is a Congress-led ploy. Talking about the 2007 Samjhauta Express blast case in a television interview, he said, "There can't be a terminology like Hindu terrorism. A Hindu cannot be a terrorist. Had there been Hindu terrorism, no other terrorism would be present in this entire region. This (Hindu terrorism) was only a political ploy by the previous Congress government to counter certain acts of terrorism where Muslims were involved."

No farm loan waiver - CM Khattar

Karnal : Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on ruled out waiver for farm loans amid Opposition protests and sit ins, although he claimed his government would continue to work for farmers’ welfare. As Opposition presses for loan waiver such as those offered by states like Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, Khattar said his government already had several welfare schemes for farmers.

No infighting in state Cong, says Tanwar

Bhiwani : Haryana Congress president Ashok Tanwar has denied any tussle for supremacy in the state unit of the party. Addressing party workers in Charkhi Dadri town, he said: “There is no infighting in the Congress. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are our leaders and there is no question of struggle for any kind of supremacy.” He said all leaders should work towards highlighting the issues of farmers and the common man. People were looking up to the Congress to get rid of the present dispensation. 

Implement CMs agri panel report: Hooda

Panipat : Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today demanded implementation of the Chief Ministers’ committee report to improve the condition of farmers if not implement the Swaminathan Commission report. Interacting with mediapersons, Hooda said on an average, 33 farmers were committing suicide across the country every day.

Congress state president Tanwar on three days hunger strike for farmers plight

Karnal : After a show of strength by former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda through ‘kisan mahapanchayat’ in Kurukahetra last week, Congress state president Ashok Tanwar began his three-day ‘satyagraha’ in Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s constituency Karnal over agrarian crisis in the country and to demand implementation of the Swaminathan Commission Report.

Armed men use pepper spray at Panchkula, free under trial from custody

Panchkula : Three armed men arrived at the Sector 6 General Hospital here on Saturday, used pepper spray on staff and police and freed one of their men from police custody. The police had brought two undertrials--Deepak, an accused in a robbery case, and Mohit--from Ambala Jail for treatment.                    

Farmers unions, political parties block highways in Haryana

Ambala : Haryana is witnessing state-wide blockades on Friday as various farmers’ unions and political parties have congregated on the highways to protest for farmers’ issues. Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) members assembled in Ambala to block the highway near Mohra. They parked their tractors on the highway to block the roads but later removed their blockade and cleared the highway.
