Inaugural 575-member Jatha to Kartarpur Sahib includes ex-PM Manmohan Singh

India on Tuesday granted clearance to 575 pilgrims to go as a part of the inaugural jatha to Gurudwara Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur Sahib through the Kartarpur corridor in Pakistan on the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak.

Kartarpur Corridor is a unique link between two countries, India and Pakistan. It’s a novel example not available anywhere in the world where natives from one country will enter its neighbour country territory, without a visa and without a passport.

India-Pakistan singed Kartarpur Sahib Corridor agreement on Thursday

India-Pakistan 0n Thursday signed the Agreement on the modalities for operationalisation of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor at Zero Point, International Boundary at Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district. At least 5000 Indian pilgrims will be allowed every day to cross the border into Pakistan without visa and without Passport. Each pilgrim will have to pay $20 as service charges to Pakistan.
