Raid Conducted in Central Jurisdiction

The vigilance department of Chandigarh police has started investigating police officers in the proclaimed and summon cell (PO cell) for allegedly taking money from defaulters and not taking them to trial in court. They have found this illegal practice to be most common in cases related to the consumer court, said Vigilance department officials. Number of cases are due, due to this malpractice . FIR has been registered against Unknown staff in the PO cell for not obeying court orders. Names of the accused will be included in the FIR after investigation.

Work on Chandigarh's first flyover to start by year end

Chandigarh: More than a year after Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari announced that a flyover will be built at the Tribune Chowk, the UT transport department will finalise a consultant for the Rs 300-crore project within a week. Work on the project is expected to start by December and will be completed in two years.
